One of my new year’s resolutions was to take my style outside of my comfort zone. And kimonos do just that. I have always appreciated the boho-vibe, but never thought it was for me. Paired with some cutoff shorts and gladiator sandals, and you’re ready for Coachella! But with some many different patterns and styles, you can find a kimono that fits your own personal style. Y’all know I love me some pink, so this sweet little number from Forever21 was perfect, plus it was only $13. And while I felt I was taking a fashion-gamble, I still felt bubbly and fun- and most importantly, I felt like myself.
Although it took me a while to adjust to the kimono styles, you should totally let it happen. This garment it a perfect transition from winter to spring, from spring to summer, and summer to fall. Hell, just wear it all year long!! But seriously, they are super adorable and usually are made of some pretty awesome materials. I have tagged a few of my favorites- all at different price points. Several of these are on my #Wishlist! With all different style, length, and patterns, you’re liable to find several you love!
- white jeans, flowy tank, and wedged booties
- cutoff jean shorts, basic white tank, and gladiator sandals
- as a coverup with your fave bikini, a floppy hat, and sunnies
- long tee, leggings, basic choker, and mules
I plan to incorporate more kimonos to my looks, especially with some jeans shorties and a top-knot in the summer, so be on the lookout for that! And I would love to see how you style your kimonos! Share your looks on Instagram and tag @type.a.style, with #TYPEASTYLEDESIGN.
