I didn’t think I could out-do the Family Happy Meal costumes from last Halloween, but I think I might have just done it. 😉 Growing up, Snow White was my favorite Disney princess. So for one halloween, my mom dressed me up as the woodland princess herself and my brother was her trusty sidekick- Dopey. Eight years later, we recreated the costume pair with my littlest brother. It only seemed appropriate that I recreated this sentimental costume with my son. It made my heart so happy to see my little family make my childhood dream come true. This was such a magical moment and I am so happy to have it captured in film.

Just as my mom did with my brothers’ costume, I DIYed Maverick’s Dopey getup. I put large buttons on an oversized green turtleneck and paired it with some leggings. Using burlap, I hotglued small pieces of the fabric on the elbows and tied a dark brown belt around his waist. He already had these cute little boots from Target, which matched perfectly. And I purchased an oversized purple beanie from Amazon and hot-glued faux ears to it. The ears seemed ridiculous at first, but that is what made it all look so cute!
Amazon is my costume central, which is where I got Josh’s and mine from.
Because of his jovial personality, it was only appropriate to make Bentley into Happy the dwarf. Once again, Amazon came in clutch with colorful dwarf hats and I hot glued a Santa beard to it. It was hilarious seeing him with that beard, but it worked out perfectly.
I do not know how I will be able to out-do this year’s costume. And that is okay- because this one is so close to my heart.
