I’m coming to you almost 3 months after our gender reveal. And while I’m behind on the blogging game, we have been soaking in our good news and enjoying this awesome transition for our little family.
For our big reveal, we decided to have family and friends at our beautiful home. The theme was “Badges or Bows”- which was definitely appropriate for the style of both JB and I.
To stay with the theme, we opted for donuts instead of cake. And I’m so glad I decided on that, because they were a big hit! Thanks to Amazin Glazin Donuts for catering to my ideas and providing the most delicious treats for our big day! And just because there isn’t a cake doesn’t mean you can’t have a cute cake topper. I simply stacked the donuts in the prettiest pile on a cake stand and placed my custom cake topper from Etsy on top. And big thanks to Kelsey with Kelso’s Cookie Company. She did an AMAZING job at these gorgeous custom cookies that matched perfectly with our police and bow theme.
One of the first things I do when Party planning is decide on a color palette. It makes planning easier and helps when picking out decor. I decided for a more modern palette for this reveal- navy blue, light pink, and gold. And it fit perfectly with our theme. Decorations were simple, yet full of bling! I used a gold sequins table cloth for the donut table and placed gold and white ceramic cake stands throughout to add dimension. And sprinkled all over the table were gold toy badges from Oriental Trading– which all the kiddos loved! I purchased a gorgeous custom tassel garland off Etsy and hung a Mylar “baby” balloon with it. For some personal flare, I taped some ultrasound pics in between the tassels, which were loved by all!
For invitations, I ordered a custom template off Etsy and printed them out at Staples, which I do for all my invites! I loved how these turned out, with the glitter theme and custom badge number added. It’s all about the details!
As you saw from one of my most recent posts, I made floral arrangements to fit the theme with gorgeous blooms from Trader Joe’s and Kroger. I placed these gorgeous bouquets throughout the house, which tied everything together in a classy way.

Now before i get into the details of how we did the reveal, I must share what our guesses were. JB was on Team Boy, and whether he thought the baby was that or not, he was adamant with his wishful thinking, just as most first time dads are. I on the other hand thought it was a girl. As cliche as it is, all I truly wanted is a healthy baby, so gender did not matter to me. But my motherly intuition told me is was a girl. I felt it within me and thought a mother’s intuition is never wrong. Plus, I though karma would hit JB because he was so head strong about it being a boy.
The big reveal involved smoke torches from Gender Reveal Celebrations. These smoke bombs came in a back of 4 (2 blue, 2 pink) for under $10! Placed in a little purple envelope was the gender of our first child, and we decided to find out with everyone else. My sweet brothers were in charge of everything up for the reveal, handing us the correct torches, and placing the revealing color bandana on Bentley. We couldn’t leave out our first born, and he was so excited to be apart of the reveal. Just as the blue colored smoke began to show, Bentley trotted down the sidewalk with his new BLUE bandana. As you can see from the video, he was so proud to show off the news, and loved being the center of attention. He definitely played the perfect part in our big reveal.
The reveal turned out perfectly and we were so excited to celebrate the news of our baby BOY with family and friends.
I love love love your theme. I’ve been trying to find navy and blush invitations for our badges and bows themed party and can’t find them anywhere. Where did you order yours from???
