It seems like fall has beaten out summer as the official “wedding season.” In the past several years, we have attended more fall weddings than ever before- and I’m totally digging the vibes. The greenery, dark hues, and coziness gives me all the feels.

I wore this gorgeous navy and burgundy dress at a wedding JB was in this past month. I can’t get enough of this #AmazonFind. I’ll be honest- I suffer from fear of repeating outfits (especially ones I’m photographed in), but this one has been on repeat and I’m totally ok with it. The wrap silhouette is so flattering and the peplum bottom makes it fun and flirty. I paired it with a basic nude heel (a staple EVERY girl needs in her closet), but you could also do a suede knee-high boot or booties, especially if you’re attending a barn wedding.
Here are a few key items to focus on when picking out the best autumn-driven wedding look:
- Color: Stay with dark hues and rustic colors. Navy, black, burgundy, grey, emerald green, crimson, mauve, mustard. Or pair a neutral with a dark, bold lip or patterned coat.
- Layer: speaking of coats, it is always appropriate to make your warming layer apart of your look. Pea coats are perfect for adding texture or patterns to your look. And even draping a moto jacket or coat over your shoulders makes for a sophisticated outfit, perfect for any wedding.
- Material: Don’t be afraid to take risks, especially when it comes to materials. Satin, tweed, velvet, lace, even sequins are all appropriate and a unique way to make your look extra fun.
- Patterns: rustic florals, houndstooth, gingham, plaid, and leopard are all great options for a fall fashion-forward look
Cheers!
