Happy Monday, everyone! Whew what a crazy ride the last couple months have been for us!
If you have followed along, you know we recently sold our home. While we did not expect to stay there long-term, we left much sooner than anticipated. Given the current housing situation and how crazy it has been, we knew it was best to take advantage of the hot market and sell to gain the most equity. While it was bittersweet to leave such a beautiful home that we had built together as a family, sometimes you have to make grown-up decisions, even if it means going outside your comfort zone. So, we sold our home without having a game plan for our next steps- which was difficult for this Type-A gal.
God’s Plan
Well, here we are, outside our comfort zone, but knowing God has bigger and better plan for us. After much prayer, we knew this next move was the right one. JB always talked about wanting more land than the under-acre we were used to having in our past 2 homes. And now that we have a son, it only made sense to have more acreage to let him run and play. We patiently searched for the right property, but because the market is crazy, inventory was low, so we had a difficult time finding anything we were interested in. After staying diligent and alert, we came across this gorgeous piece of land that is the perfect size and lies in the most perfect location- close to town, close to friends, and close to the main roads. Everything we ever wanted! There were so many little quirks that made us know this was the right place and where God wants our family to be. And we are so excited!
Next Steps
Because we built this last home, we knew that we would definitely be building our next one, it was just a matter of where. After we officially found our dream property, we bit the bullet and are now in the process of beginning the building process.
So here I am again, a little over 3 years later, and designing prepping to build yet another house. But I am not complaining, because I love it! With my dad being a builder, it is the environment I grew up around. Plus, JB and I do really well as a team on these projects, with a little bicekring here and there. 😉
That being said, be sure to follow along as we build this next house. While it will have similar qualities as our last one, I am going a different route on the interior design style, so be sure to follow along to check it all out.
Special thanks to Morgan Worley for taking the most precious moments of our family. It was so sentimental having her capture these moments, as she was our wedding photographer and now continuing to photograph us as our family has grown. She is the best!
